See our Leadership Conceptual Model

Goals:

· Develop and offer curriculum, programs, institutes, seminars and conferences that facilitate the development of leaders and work places that nurture the spirit and dignity of all persons working in or being served by the organization.

·  Engage in rigorous research to identify the effects and outcomes of the integration of spirituality and leadership, and to encourage and promote research efforts nationally.

· Create resources that convey the foundational theories, diverse applications, and best practices of the integration of spirituality and leadership.

· Promote the networking and collaboration of educational institutions, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, associations and individuals who share a focus on nurturing the human spirit in organizational structures.

· Integrate theoretical and practical aspects of spirituality and leadership into the structures, policies, and procedures of Marian University; its faculty and staff development processes; curriculum; and student life programs.

Mission:

The Center for Spirituality & Leadership promotes leadership that nurtures the gifts and spirit of each person and cultivates caring community environments in which persons become more whole, healthy, creative and dedicated to service.

Definition:

Spirituality & Leadership is not about promoting a particular religious perspective at work. On the contrary, the Center believes that all persons must be respected in their unique religious expression. Leaders who integrate spirituality recognize that people are whole; with hearts, spirits, feelings, and creative imaginations. Such leaders treat persons with dignity, empower them to their fullest creative potential, recognize their energy and efforts, value and listen deeply to the diversity of voices, and care for them as human beings. There is significant evidence that indicates that organizations that integrate spirituality and leadership create increased value for all stakeholders.
